4,500km Tested, Specific MTB gear
All Krank Dirtwear’s New Zealand mountain bike clothes for men & women are put through their paces before we hand them over. And we don’t mean Sunday afternoon rides in the Botanic Gardens. They are tested over 4500km of singletrack in rain, hail, frost, snow, mud and 40+ degrees of heat. They’re thrashed on the tracks and then thrashed in the washing machine and dryer. When we’re testing our New Zealand mountain bike clothes for men & women, we deliberately take no care to look after the gear at all to see if it can take it. Our testers have crashed, snapped bike frames, broken and worn out chains and sprockets, used copious amounts of brake pads, worn out truckloads of tyres and yet the gear is still standing. In fact, the gear usually stands up far better than the machinery. In early tests, some fabrics only lasted 20 rides (we tossed those) and we had some gloves that fell apart after three rides (they’re gone too).
