Krank mountain bike clothing started in Hanmer Springs in the South Island of New Zealand in 2005.
After 15 years riding motocross I decided that mountain biking or trail riding ( on the mountain bike ) was for me. Riding the bike like it was still motorized, I found that I needed mountain bike clothing that breathed as hard as I was and could take the crashes plus had a brand that I would be proud to wear. This is where KRANK made its entrance after dissecting the competition and finding their weaknesses we started from the ground up and designed a complete range of mountain bike clothing for the guys and the girls.
To be honest we never sit still there is no such thing as a perfect garment we are for ever tweaking styles and designs to find that holy grail of mountain bike clothing. The Perfect garment!
Still being designed and locally made in New Zealand gives us the freedom to change tack quickly and do small production runs keeping the designs fresh and up to the minute also being able to keep a very close eye on quality.
We are a small family business my wife, myself and daughters. Yep three daughters this is going to be a concern in years to come I can see. KRANK is a business that is part of the family, it is something that we want to be involved in and continue to work in well into old age, retirement is very over rated.
Our goals are to make the clothes Unique, Affordable High Quality and an Appealing Design.
